I am here at the Northern Philatelic Library (norps.org) and found a couple of bound editions of this work by Stanley Ashbrook. It astounds me that I have never heretofore heard of this. Of course the pictures are all gone, but I did find that Richard Frajola has published the entire set, with pictures on his website.

Is anyone aware of an attempt to index this work of Ashbrook's?

The one I have in my hands was prepared for Mr. Paul Rohloff of the Collectors Club of Chicago. I believe this particular item was part of the large donation we received from Mr. Richard Drews.

Hey smauggie:

That's a good resource. I'm pretty sure I've seen it posted here before, but a "reminder" always brings new eyes from new members and viewers. Maybe someone will know of an index .

Thanks for sharing.
Kirk

I am unaware of an index to the Special Service, but I must say that after spending the last 8 years out of the hobby I am astonished at the resources now freely available online. Back in the day I paid a few hundred bucks for a photocopied version of the Special Service housed in ratty springback binders.
