I collect sheets (panes) of stamps and what I have is a Unitrade postage stamp perforation gauge. Is there a better tool for measuring perforations on a sheet of stamps?

IMO as long as you can see the guage you have clearly enough, I don't think it makes a difference. You can place it on the front of the sheet to make it easier to see from the back side. As long as it works, my motto is no need to fix it.
