Wert, I think your last example is a 9 o'clock dot. Nice find!
However, my stamp from the other post definitely does not have a dot. |

Nice Wert! I did not realize they could be so far from the medallion. I will have to double check mine.

Wert, thanks for posting all those illustrations. I was planning to scan a few but there is no sense now -- great job and a wonderful service to Forum members.

BeeSee...That is a very interesting theory..We know they exist far outside the medallion... So maybe it does on some stamp exist.. Wonder if gportch would have something further to say about it...Nice stamp and probably nice find BeeSee... |

I just noticed the comparisson stamp I used in the worn plate thread appears to have an "internal" 9 o'clock dot - right below the head of the "2" below Halifax. https://goscf.com/t/41299#41299 |

Hi BeeSee
Nice find! They are there but one needs to look carefully.
As a sidebar to this discussion, I suggest that those who love looking for "dots and scratches" get a copy of CONSTANT PLATE VARIETIES OF THE CANADA SMALL QUEENS by Hans Reiche and Mike Sendbuehler. This well illustrated book could create an addiction for these minute details (I did a 16 page exhibit of 3 cent varieties).
For Toronto based collectors, the book is available in the Greene Foundation research library.
