Hi guys..I am almost 100% sure it is English, but cant find it in Scott catalogue...help please.

It's Great Britain, issue of 1878, Stanley Gibbons F23. This might help you cross-correlate to Scott.

cjpalermo1964...I looked from 1840-1940 and cant see that silly stamp anywhere...

I don't think Scott will list it as it's strictly a revenue stamp - note INLAND REVENUE at the top, not POSTAGE & REVENUE. Would also account for the manuscript cancel.

And are you sure that's the 1878 issue? I take it for a Die I or II, which would date it 1868 or 1876.

Hi James, I agree. It's die 2 so first issued 1876.

Hi cjpaLermo, if this had been postally used (or unused) this would have been SG F20.
