The stamps that older people give from our island community are a real treasure.
We moved here about 27 years ago and there was 300 people who lived here. Our family made up 2% of the island population back then. The population is now approaching 5,000.
Most people from back then have passed on sadly. Some that were in their 50's are in there 80's now and we are blessed if there is 3 of them left. For years their stamps have come my way and I always have a look for treasures like the image below. A Lady called Ann gave me this stamp not so long ago. She has watched her husband and all her friends pass on. She is 80 something now and last Sunday 8am as we were on the way to set up our Church and the Ambulance pulled up at her house in a hurry.
At 8.45am I was at the jetty which is our transport place to pick up James and the Ambulance was there so we know Ann went to the hospital. But we can not find out her situation. No one Knows!

Her stamp I will always treasure.

The weather leading up to Sunday is the worst I can remember.

For 3 days and 3 night the temp did not go under 27c and the humidity did not stop and was as high as it can get.

We are hearing that there was a lot more people in Ann's position and many people were busy over this period checking on this person and that person but sadly this weather has taken too many people from our island community......

It has cooled off now and we wait and Hope!My life goes on and as usual I am up to my eye in stamps.....:)

The weather was really bad for me as well. Did not sleep for 2 nights and all the weak parts of the body were suffering.

Went to sleep Sunday 6pm and woke up Tuesday 7am. Could not focus on stamp Tuesday but am stamping at full speed today!

The cool spell has gone now and the humidity builds up again!

Soaking stamp is refreshing in this weather.:)

KGV I would trade my minus 10 C for your 27 C
right about now.
And you can throw in the humidity too.

Yes right! Not to in anyway take away from the severity of your perilous heat situation there but I thought it worth mentioning that It's been between -20 (with windchill factor) and a steady 26 degrees since. A might chillier today however.

Wow now that is cold! ILS So very different here!

We have different climate than the mainland as our island is surrounded by sea water that is about 23c or 75f. It seems to increase out temp and hugely our humidity.

In the winter the water cools off to about 17c or 62f.

The weather here now is normal with much less humidity. Good stamping weather!Everybody is recovering.

The heat wave we had effected a lot of people here both young and old.

So the temp of 27c is 80f and 30c is 86f and 35c is 95f but when you add the humidity factor it is a lot hotter. Like your wind chill factor.
