I agree with the comment on collections or albums from nystamps. I have bought two. One was reasonably full and the other was sparse. His terms warn you that albums may be sparsely filled. They also note that his images show all stamps that will be provided. If one image shows two thick albums, but then there are only 20 images of half filled pages, you must assume you are getting a bunch of blank pages. When I see that, I set a low max bid and stick to it ... Let someone else over pay.
I've purchased collections from NYstamps with mixed results. One was a US BOB accumulation with lots of parcel post stamps, I found them just about all faulty (I thought about sending it back, but the price was really low), to another BOB collection that contained a full page of M&Ms that exceeded my expectations. I look over and catalog beforehand, not counting questionable items, keep my expectations really low with NYstamps, bid accordingly and hope for the best. If you keep this in mind you won't win all that many auctions from them, but when you do you should be good. And there's always tomorrow they will post lots more items so don't despair.
