Bothwell paper is always weaved vertically with a diamond shaped pattern in the weave. It does not look like this.

Best Reference: THE LARGE QUEEN STAMPS OF CANADA AND THEIR USE, Second Edition, 2008, H. E. & H. W. Duckworth, The Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation. I believe they are in process of printing more of these at this time. Contact the Foundation for more information. This is a must have for serious collectors of the Large Queen issue.

Looks like Duckworth paper type 4 or 10. 4 is thinner. 10 is thicker, more opaque and whiter. Tough to tell from the scan which it might be, as you can see the design through the paper (like paper 4), but it appears to be whiter (like paper 10). If you have a 1c yellow-orange, you can compare the papers. All of the 1c yellow-oranges were on paper 10).

would it be possible, by error, the paper could be introduced in the printing machine with the weaves horizontally and consequently, also the diamond shape would appear East-West instead of North South?

not likely, based upon the shape of the plates and the shape of the paper required to print them.

Simply put, it does not have the "look" of Bothwell paper. It does look like other styles of paper.

The simple answer - it ain't Bothwell paper.
The complex answer: Someone did something to make one sheet of paper look different from all of the known examples of Bothwell paper."

Pick 1
