I know these Newfie's can be tricky. The LR,TM,BM,and RM inner frame and shading on letters and numerals appears doubled. Slip print, or re-entry?

Thanks Wert, I am skeptical on these issues. What is with the incomplete C in CENTS?

I agree with Wert, slightly heavy ink.

There also appears to be doubling on the left side (top) of E in POSTAGE.

I concur with most opinions ... slight overinking throughout. Nice closeups!

yes--Over-inking; and exceptionally nice closeups. My understanding is that this issue had a lot of over-inking. After all, there were 27.450 million stamps issued , with the EKU of Oct 14, 1941. Queen Elizabeth got around.

I have not seen anything in NSSC or Unitrade on my initial read with regard to the "C". Though there is a variety with a broken "A" in "Land" that is worth 40 to 75 times the regular carmine version. So people should always scan for that one.

Got anymore to share?

Now that you mention it Tommy, take a look at this New Brunswick Scott #7...Dont know if it is a case of over inking, re-entry, or some thing other..
Robert

Can't comment on the arrowed items until I get home (after we get our house dug out) and have a look at my own copies but they look like over-inking to me.

Isn't this a great stamp and a great use of the Chalon portrait? Too bad New Brunswick didn't have time to get more issues out than they did before Confederation. The stamps are increasing in value. Wouldn't it be nice to own a couple of copies of the 1 shilling and maybe a Connell? Can probably find a Connell for about $10,000 now and the 1/ pence issue is well over the $1,000 level for a reasonable copy.
