Just think of all the cool postal items you could collect. Hummm was that a pun?

That's not significantly above the minimum wage for working in Antarctica!

Interesting that the postal service is actually used, albeit by cruise passengers - I'd assumed that these odd locations wiht stamp issues were purely for separating stamp collectors from their money.

Well for a younger person it would be the adventure of a lifetime and wouldn't do to bad on a person's resume for experience, and having worked for the postal service I can say the system lets a person transfer and apply to other positions within the postal service, so not a bad deal for minimum wage in a entry level career.

You could tell your grandchildren about it and some good stories to tell. I wouldn't have anything negative to say about it and if the free room and board helps me, my little check without to many bills, I could really have a chance to save a little nest egg.

I wouldn't mind helping anyone most likely many scientists and other support personnel as well as tourist world traveler adventurers part with their money ,what are collectors for to the postal service anyway, ha.

I agree with Larry -- it would be the opportunity of a lifetime.

I'm very interested in polar philately. I've been collecting British Antarctic Territory (BAT) and I have a few other stamps from the region.

If you haven't applied for the job yet, I think you're too late -- there's already 1500 applicants!

Keep trying, sounds like a yearly thing(search for 4 people).

"Each year, the UKAHT's U.K. team -- based in Cambridge -- searches for committed individuals to make up a small team of four"
