I wrote about the Commonwealth 1983 $2 design errors years ago in the Canadian Philatelist, (or was it BNAPS?

), complete with illustrations. I cannot find it at the moment.
There are many other design errors besides the missing Antarctica.
New Britain and New Ireland are shaded green for non-members of the Commonwealth, though they are part of member Papua New Guinea. The Republic of Nauru and Western Samoa in the Pacific, and Gambia in Africa are omitted altogether. The North Cape of New Zealand is separated from the North Island, it is actually a peninsula. Gibraltar is colored yellow indicating independent status which it does not have.
