Hi guys...Came across this stamp when digging in bags of WW stamps I have not gone through yet...It is from a country called Lubuan.

Population.........est. 90000
Square miles.......35
Made stamps up to 1906 then used other countries stamps.

Here is the 1894 Stamp..Worth approx. only $63.00 Canadian dollars, but a nice stamp to keep.

If you're talking stamp-issuing entities, there are lots of smaller places amongst current issues, such as Tokelau, Norfolk Island, Macau, Cocos Keeling, etc. Fully independent nations that are smaller would include Nauru, Tuvalu, San Marino and Monaco. There are likely many others further back in history.

See below for list of current countries and political entities.

And I thought that Sealand was the smallest. I see that they also issued postage stamps from 1969 to 1977, then not until 2010. Anyone have any?

I never saw the stamp in the original post before, but what's with the "C" in "CENTS" at the bottom ... it looks more like a "G"? Was that intentional or could it be from a defect in the printing plate?

I've posted some Sealand here before:

but they barely count, in my mind. Still neat to have.

That's interesting wt1...Never noticed that before...Saw a few on ebay (terrible focus), but I think that may be normal.

The odd "C" is indeed normal. Please see a picture in this previous thread.

Wert, can you still edit the title of this thread? Lubuan is an island in Indonesia, part of a group that includes Komodo, home of the famous dragon. The country you mean to ask about is Labuan, with an "a" instead of a "u".

I did a post about Labuan- everything you want to know about classic era Labuan, as well as a discussion about the 1894 Victoria forgeries.

The Sealand ones are just cinderella labels, not stamps.

I found one that has the same type of 'C'. It looks to be atypically typical. I noticed it is also on a North Borneo stamp - others have the same type of 'C' - and it appears North Borneo was a British Protectorate at the time of the stamp.
