The cost of buying the GB perfin identity catalog sections is a very big investment... probably running into hundreds of pounds. Second hand sections or catalogs are nearly as expensive... however...

The Perfin Society auction lists are available online. There are quite a few auction PDFs and they contain valuable information on perfin type, dates, identities, stamps used etc.
If you are prepared to work at it, you can create your own database of GB perfins.

Most auction lists contain several hundred identified perfins such as listed above. The only thing missing would be the pin count but that is not a hindrance to identifying many perfins.
So far I have downloaded 28 PDFs each containing several hundred identified perfins and am in the process of making a sectional list.

The same holds true for ebay and other on line auctions. Many of the lots listed on them are identified.

I consider the time I spend on putting them into a database is well worth the effort. Granted, buying the literature on them is good too, but, the prices for books and the postage on top is way out of line. Better online than out of line
