Hi - found this in box lot/mixture a couple years ago. I see Scott says "forgeries exist" but no details on how to tell. Any Samoa experts out there? Thanks!!

You have a Fournier forgery, the subtype with large letters in value panel.

However, what I find interesting is the scratch across the upper right corner. It appears to be plate damage. Can you confirm that it is not a physical scratch on the stamp? Thank you!

Thank you KHJ. I assumed it would be a common case of "too good to be true". That line in the upper right isn't a physical scratch but a streak of no ink. Some forgeries amaze me how good they are - the skill required to replicate something so detailed.
