Rik,

All I can say at this point is to try it on some inexpensive used stamps. You may be in luck!

Okay, thank you Jack.
Tomorrow I am going to try it.

Indeed on a stamp that isn't expensive

Good evening from Holland,

Rik
EDIT: Does it matter which flavor the air freshener is?
And how do I apply it?
On the back of the stamp???

Rik,

Jim6092252 is right. You need a citrus solvent. Just ask the clerk for any citrus cleaner preferably which can be applied as a spray. And just spray the stamp. It should come right off the envelope.

Rik, I tried giving you the name of the solvent used in West Europe. I do not know if you tried it, but looking for the US way is not going to be very easy. Two of my Dutch stamp collecting friends are using what I suggested to you earlier. If there is a problem, try this: In Arnhem is a stamp dealer, D.J.Luttje, Steenstraat 37, phone 026-4427796.
Give him a ring, and he can help you out with something that is readily available in the Netherlands.

Hi Peter,

I have been once at Mr. Luttje's shop in Arnhem.
To call him, is indeed a good idea.
It didn't came up in to me...

Greetings, Rik

If you are trying to find a petroleum based product that might work here is what it may be called in another country. The coleman stove fuel and other naphtha products are in column 3. Just take care in using them they are flammable. A little goes a long way.
