We know that the wove paper on the Large Queens can have a horizontal or vertical direction in its mesh and this is different from laid lines.

So do we have both horizontal and vertical "laid"???? And what is the relation to the direction of the mesh??? Vertical direction equals upright rhombs???

It appears that for the Large Queens it is horizontal laid lines for the laid paper variety. The wove paper on the Large Queens can be either horizontal or vertical in orientation. See: https://goscf.com/t/11282&whichpage=1

There is NO "laid" in this paper. The vertical "lines" are the horizontal threads of my wire

Yes. I am pretty certain this is not Laid Paper. The lines do appear when looking through the stamp but the paper itself is wove. The Laid Paper on the Large Queens has much wider lines, especially on the 1c

It is mystery to me as to where the lines came from. We are thinking that something that presses the paper against the plate is causing these lines to appear inside the paper, similar to how a stitch watermark is created.

Seems more like ribbed than laid paper to me. Lines are even visible from the front of the stamp. Never seen anything like it. Interesting stamp ! I'd submit it to be expertized.

Hi everyone here. Have this stamp and as you can see at the back the horizontal lines very close one from others. In the light is not woved or laid paper.A lot of impurities in the paper, no thin, or damage only impurities. Have about 30 and is the only ond withis aperence. So what are you opinion about.
