It is not that they are hard to find ,really nobody wants them . They are looked at as wallpaper . |

These and other like these are bogus. These stamps are designed to defraud. They are commomonly use Russian & English and have have high monetary values with no currancy clearly noted. Because of the high denomination on the stamps they are often sold at a Premium. These are locations that were within the USSR former territories!

That list "of regions of the Russian Federation in whose name illegal stamps are being issued" looks like it could make for an interesting collecting focus. I suppose, though, if any of them never actually moved any commercial mail, they wouldn't be of any interest to "real" philatelists. Still, that's a long list of possible "cinderellas." |

I agree with blcjr - I've always liked to collect what appeals to me and not what appeals to most others - therefore my out of pocket is minimal. I can see real value in a bogus country collection! |
