I have taken a shine to Ceylon stamps lately, so when James and I went to the Stamp fair last week I bid on this lot and picked it up for the reserve price of AUD$48(UD$34).

I'm happy!

Phil, what I like, is the fact there is a definite end to the stamps in 1971 as they changed name to Sri Lanka in 1972.

Nice stamp, Phil. Thanks for sharing.

Nice catch. There are some real psychological advantages to 'dead countries' AND some real challenges at the same time.

Stampydampy, you are correct. Ceylon became Sri Lanka in 1972.

Dianne, that would be great, thank you very much.

Cgrotha, I look at some of the prices of the early stamps and I can see some real challenges. LOL
