I decided to try a new Epson v600. Looks like it will do the job for me. I was tempted and still am to go for the canon lide 400, which looks good on paper, but alas I decided I might want the larger scanning area and reviews for the Epson products seemed better overall. I'm paying for it, but still an inexpensive compromise to v750 I'd like to get.

Risk and Reward

So I picked up my $50 Epson V700, came with no Power cords, software, transformer packs, nothing.
Same with printer.

I put it down to a $50 donation to the community, and will take (regrettably) to the tip.

Get an email this morning, "also have Epson perfection here, and printer, no cost to you"

Picked that up, all software and cords, a flat platen Epson and Printer Woohoo

Went to charity shop, see if they want the V700,
picked up a swag of history books, (Free)
and 20 DVD's (10 for $1)

I gave $10 and left.

Was a strange morning in Paradise.
