Dating a Postcard of the Glasgow Bridge, Scotland, UK:

This 1865 photo (below) shows the bridge with its original gas lights along the sides, and no railway bridge.
(That paddle-steamer, across the river, is docked right where the railway bridge would be built.)

This post-1899 (below) photo shows the newly-widened bridge, with electric lights down the center of the bridge.
At the far left, you can see the 1st Caledonian Railway Bridge (hereinafter 'CRB1').

CRB1 from the west; note the clean, open rectangular structure (same as in my card, above):

CRB1 (in the background); note the added support for overhead electric lines; dated 1902:

A better view of the overhead electric lines for both the trams & the trains:

CRB1 was demolished in 1967.

Q/ Looking in my card, under CRB1, are those the first pilings for CRB2? (opened 1905)

- The widened Glasgow Bridge opened 1899; and
- The railway bridge (CRB1) was already electrified in 1902; so
- That puts my card in 1899-1902.
