An old and odd to me mini album of German and Austrian stamps directly affixed. If this mini album is German in origin and contemporary to the stamps contained does the album add to the desirability of the stamps contained in it.

It looks like pages from a small, soft cover album. For my taste, they just aren't good looking. The pages are thin, so they become wrinkled and torn. And, as you can see, they show through.

But...I can't answer your question about added value. I don't know.

With the extra box for adding i.d. or price, it looks like a circuit book or other approval book. If I saw something in there I needed, I wouldn't hesitate to remove it.

My 2d.

Looks like an approval book and so by itself would have no additional value. It's pretty telling that you do not show a cover page or even a page with copyright info.

No reason not to soak off the stamps. Looks like mostly inflation era issues of Germany and some of Austria, so I'm guessing little value. Assure yourself by getting a Scott catalog from the library and llooking them up.

Re: soaking, are these not hinged? Are these pasted onto the paper?

If so, I'm not sure they are worth the effort, unless you don't have other examples of these.

Judging by the back sides of the pages, the stamps were stuck on, not hinged.

Thanks for the replies. The stamps are pasted onto the pages. I will keep as is.

Yes, better examples of these are cheap and plentiful. There are several different inflation types, and complete sets of each of type are usually just a few dollars. This is assuming the most common varieties, of course, and most are cheaper in unused condition than used.

I picked up an album with many stamps like this, stuck to the page, some as if they had been licked! I soaked the lot, and mounted the ones I wanted into a good album. Doesn't matter value-wise, as they're already pretty worthless on the market, as a result of the sticking. Just a question of making them look nicer on album pages.

If you soak these off, they will be in unused, no gum condition. In their current state, I'm not sure if they are used or unused, but they are certainly not mint. And although, they are never-hinged, pasting them to the page made that irrelevant. I would soak the lot, check for varieties and reduce the storage space. But that's probably my issue. ;)
