Perhaps you can check the BNAPS library. I did buy mine a few years ago at the Ian Kimmerly store in Ottawa, but the store is now closed. I was able to buy another copy on ebay from the UK (looks brand new) about 3 years ago, which I later sold on ebay. The book was printed in England by Premier Clay Litho Ltd. ISBN no. 0 900631 12 0 The Royal Philathelic Society , London 1985 |

That`s a pretty tough book to find. I was thinking of trying the RPS but the printer might be a good place, too. I`ve been trying to buy it for awhile. I`ll have to sart asking around. I`ve searched the internet and every place is sold out. Only way to get one on the web is when someone is going to sell their copy and you are lucky enough to search at that time. You should start a thread to identify plate positions and state for the 5c Beaver. Most sites have a thread to identify plates of the Penny Black and this would be similar to that. I think it would be an interesting thread. And I have alot of 5c Beavers with Plate Flaws and re-entries that need plate positions. |

Robert, I sold my spare copy to Coriandre 2 yrs ago. I am working on my own copy to make it slightly easier to identify varieties (minor editing of the original adding color to the B & W images). Here is a sample of what my revised version would look like when completed. Actual file is a bit better that the compressed one shown here. |

Here's one more. Whitworth's Re-entry 50 in the lower left 5 and a bit on the oval to the right of GE. What is the plate position of this one? |

Hi Jim, This is Pos. 43 either state 1 or State 2. State hard to tell from scan. I see pf. 86b at top of stamp. State 1 "R.50 = fresh entry, pf. 86b." State 2 "R50a = reduced R.50. Very small 'C' dot. pf. 86b." Quotes are from Whitworth. |

I bought three pages from an old collection with a bunch of 5c Beaver "minor re-entries". I love buying those types of lots. I just have to clean these up and identify all the marks on the stamps. |

Jim, The flaw in N of CENTS does not seem to be in my references. It may be printing freak. Take a look at the references I sent you when they arrive. Position 32, R.8 is state 5, great copy. |

Thanks Mike. Yes, I couldn't find anything on that blob of color in N of CENTS. Here's a few more where I think I have the plate position. I don't have the Re-entry Numbers yet but working on it. Anyone agree or disagree on these ones? Position 61 - look in the corners, especially bottom right. Position 92 - 3rd A in CANADA and area left of crown Position 75 - hard to see. N of CENTS and tiny lines in the inner oval below and between NT of CENTS. Also looks like the scarce MILLBROOK Pre-cancel postmark (rectangular blocks) |

And then there's this big blob in the upper right. Again - no idea on this one. Looks like tiny bit of Imprint at the top right. |
