I'd say, if you like them, they were. But don't expect to retire on them. Having just been in a stamp shop this past week, and watching the dealer going through a ladies late husband's collection, there were several of these and they have no value. |

Wasn't planning on selling them. But figured they were FDC, what the heck. May even trade them off. Not sure yet. |

Probably at or near secondary market value. The problem is demand is next to nil, so there are plenty of them on the market that remain unsold. Here's one example off of ebay ... the cost is 75 cents and no bids! http://www.ebay.com/itm/US-1975-Fir...em1c56ee40bb(There are other listings too, ranging from 99 cents all the way up to nearly $10 apiece. Obviously, no bids on those either.) |

They look nice, but like others said there's a lack of demand. I've tried listing them at 99 cents and sometimes they sell and other times they don't. They were massed produced. |

You are using Mystic and Kenmore? retail price lists as your catalogue, right? Okay, they are overpriced compared to the market. Full Scott catalogue value might be close to Mystic but no one pays full catalogue unless the item is a very fine specimen. So if something seems underpriced according to Mystic, it can still be above the actual market vallue. You need to study the Scott values for a while to get a sense of actual market value--20-30% of Scott on average condition, 50-75% of Scott on fine, more on very fine specimens. One way to do this is by monitoring actual ebay sales to see what things actually sell for at what level of condition. Or just cut Mystic prices in half or more. Simpler. Not as fine-tuned but simpler. |

Thank you, Dennis. The two I got from Kenmore were 20 cents each, and the few I got from Mystic were 15-20 each. And even though they were used, they were in great shape. With my boys I am unable to go to the library to look at a Scott, and I can't find any around here used. I don't order offline because no credit card and I quit using PayPal because they messed up my bank account. So I have to use the catalogs as a guide for now unfortunately. |

Just a bunch of stamps. U.S., worldwide, doesn't matter. Trying to build a collection. |
