Geoff look again - the stamp is much "Straiter" than the "Curved" grade I'm glad I live in such an understanding world where a stamp with obvious foxing can be considered a 98. This means that stamps I own with less foxing will all be 100s! (I'm referring to the foxing "dots" and not the discolored gum.) |

So dire straits all round, aside from the welcome, overnight uplift to the value of Jenny's collection. |

Do people actually buy these for more than it costs to have them encapsuled? |

Another reason not to care for PSE's creation of the grading "craze." The stamp is nicely centered, but the back isn't all that good, even considering the age of the stamp and it perhaps spending time in a humid environment. |

I can't tell if it is a Crown CC or Crown CA watermark but presume it is CA and with the rust spots at the top right and the creasing the value would be about $ 2.50 without the PSE certificate and slabbing and about $ 2.50 with it.

Looks as if PSE certified it as a #51 which wold be the correct Scott number, watermark Crown & CA, cat value $5.50 from my 2009 Scott. I would never slab a stamp but regardless of the grade it's a lovely Stamp. |

Looks like a gum crease to me on the reverse. Not sure why that would affect grade all that much. More interesting to me, what is that line coming out of Victoria's mouth going to the bottom left? Sipping her tea out of a straw? |

The stamp has faults, the maximum grade it should have got is a 50,
Stamps do not grade by centering alone,

I was going to ask roquegallery1 why since he/she is sending very, very inexpensive stamps to be entombed, why not send the best copies available, but then I realized that since PSE grades poor stamps as 98, there really is no need for anyone to be particular about stamp quality - it will get a good grade just as long as the margins are reasonably spaced on all four sides. |
