Hi guys...I picked up about 50 of these cards and a nice case at my stamp club auction..Really don't know how or when they send these to customers when there is insufficient postage on a letter or parcel..maybe some one can explain how this process works...Do they send it along with the letter/parcel back to the customer who mailed it..?? If memory serves me well...back in the day (the 50's)...your postal carrier would collect postage due payments in cash....then later the process was changed that the postal carrier would include a pre-addressed card where you woukd affix the postage due payment in the form of postage stamps....and you would mail back the card. |

In the USA we had postage due bills kinda like that, this is a big one for a business but people got smaller ones. A neat thing to have because I would guess most got back to the post offices  |

I remember the good old days.
In the States, for delivered mail with postage due, the carrier would simply collect the money owed when he dropped off the mail. If one were not home, a little note like these would be left behind.
I think the onus was always on the recipient. I don't ever remember having a letter returned for insufficient postage. |

they supposed to return them but I have got a few letters marked for 1 or 2 cents due were they didnt even bother to try to collect it. |

Come on guys...only our American friends peeped in, where are my Canadian buddies (nothing against my American friends, please understand)..What was the process in Canada..??
