Interesting that American Bank Note would patent a perforator long after all the U.S. stamp production moved over to the Bureau of Engraving & Printing. Apparently foreign stamp production was still a big money maker for them.
Yes, especially for the stamps of Canada with line perforation 12 gauge dominating their (ABN/CBN) sheet, booklet and some coil perforations from 1897 to 1974 which was first used around 1862.
For U.S. stamps, line perforation 12 was mostly used from 1861 to 1914 with some other stamps later being ABN perforated 12 like the Overrun Nations (ABN printed), Thomas Eakins Rowers, Walt Disney and John Paul Jones issues.
