Uncanceled, balanced jumbo margins, and sound. What's not to love?

Nice, but I like the margins on mine better.

Yes, the 2 cent third issue is a great example, but it should be remembered that 91,861,158 were issued. That means that if only one one hundredth of one percent are like this it's still over 9000 examples. So it's great to find one, but there are more around. Somewhere.

Still, you could wade through a pretty dang large number of 2-centers before you find one like that. I've certainly never found one like it. I bought it on ebay, so I can't take credit for actually finding it.

Perhaps other extra superb examples survived. But as we know, you could search for one for years and never find it, except maybe in a dealer's stock at an over-the-moon price. Finding a sound, perfectly centered revenue -- especially one with huge margins -- is a real challenge, even for the most common stamps.

It's more of a challenge for some than others though. Some cannot even be found sound regardless of the centering. It's just hard for me to get carried away over even a very well centered stamp when nearly 100 million were issued. There are some stamps that just seeing them with good color is exciting, even if they would only grade 70 or 80.

The subjective aspect of stamp collecting is a beautiful thing.
