Apart from the obvious damage, I would love to know the date of this stamp. It looks to me that the overprint "Panama" on the sides has been added later. Also it looks like there may be printing under the red bar at the top?
Horamkhet, you are correct, there is printing under the red bar. It was first a Columbian stamp. When Panama became independent from Columbia some of the latter's stamps were overprinted with "Panama". Still later, some of these Panamanian stamps were overprinted with "Canal Zone"!
The original stamp was from Panama when it was still a department of Colombia.
The red bar covers "COLOMBIA" and on the original stamps the fact that they were from Panama was indicated by the map of the department (and I suppose also by Panama City shown as "PANAMA" in tiny letters).
