I see. In that case, only a postmark expert would be able to tell which Salo this postmark is from!

jim, I wondered the same thing. I wish we had more information about the stamp. My suspicion is that the Salo still in Finland has always been a larger city. Karelia's Salo is probably tiny. But does that matter if both had post offices? Would the postmarks be much the same regardless? I don't know.
