I am curious about the existence of PNC5 strips for later Official coils. My 2011 Scott Specialized has PNC5 listings for O135 and O139 (pricey!), but none are listed for other pre-2000 coils. I do see PNC5 listings for some 2002 and later issues, but I only collect up to year 2000.

Do PNC5 strips for pre-2000 coils (other than the 2 mentioned) exist?

Munroe47, the only two officials prior to 2000 that have plate numbers were the 20 and the 22 cent coils. You can check the page on the PNC3 website, www.PNC3.org
The next official PNC was the 37 cent which appeared in 2002. The 39 cent and the 41 cent also have plate numbers, but of course they were issued even later! Hope this helps?

Peter

Thank you Peter. That answers my question. I am never sure what to make of it when something seems to be missing in Scott; did they miss it? is it too rare to mention? or does it not exist? Thanks again.

They left the plae numbers off (collectors can't use official stamps, so if they had to buy a full roll of 100 like they do with other coils issued in rolls of 100 just to get a PNC strip, they would be stuck with the rest of the roll)
