The stamp is almost as if they were running out of ink. It is a very light yellow. I have taken several pics trying t get a better photo but they all turn out the same even with other cameras. It does not look old and turning colors .....that is the color

Hi Tabbie,
I like this design, a beautiful classical stamp. The color on your stamp looks quite normal to me for this issue. (Spain 1917, sc no 310) It comes in a range of shades which is normal on classical stamps in yellow / orange colors. The control number on the back is an interesting feature, but still normal for this stamp.
I think we all love to see details of stamps. However if you want to share such details with us, a photo will normally not be very good - I recommend you put such stamps in your scanner, set at 300 dpi (if you have one).
Happy stamping,
Jon

Hi Blaamand I have tried everything . I agree I think the color is just the color of the stamp. I am a beginning collector so what do I know. We question everything lol, but I have 3 f the Medallion stamps with the one being yellow and two violet ones. I have been searching and looking up info on the stamps and it is very interesting. I learned that it was during world war 1 and that the printing for the stamps was vague with very little ink so this to may answer my question. I came across these stamps in a old bag of stamps I purchased

Tabbie. Scott #310 is yellow. Scott #300 is violet. I hope this clears it up.

Gibbons lists this as issued in 1917 in yellow, and a variety in orange, both with figures in red or orange on the reverse. The 15c yellow with figures in blue or black was also issued in 1917. There is a range of perfs for this issue - 13 x 12 1/2, 13 and 13 1/2 x 13.

This is Edifil # 270, issued in April, 1, 1917. The issue called "medallón" (medal). It's not considered a "classical" stamp. Minimal value.
