I think the following email response from Gibbons Customer Service says much about the company's "strategy" -- or lack there of. Seems folks who support collectors are in the dark in December what the leader in British collecting will publish in 2016. Below is Gibbons response to my question as to when their New Imperial album would be released as a ring binder...
Hi Dan,
We do not have an album which combines Great Britain with British Commonwealth other than the New Imperial album which is due to be released next year, however we do not have a date as of yet. This will only cover years 1840-1936. You may wish to purchase separate albums for the later years up to 1950, for example the One Country albums which are either 4 ring or 22 ring binders depending on the country.
We are not sure whether the New Imperial album will be available as a luxury hingeless version as well as the standard version. You may wish to get back in touch early next year when we have more information regarding our upcoming publications for the year.
We are sorry we can not be more helpful in this instance, in the meantime you may find the catalogue Commonwealth and British Empire Stamps 1840-1970 useful as a guideline (page 7 of the November brochure).
Warm regards,
Laura Brooks Stanley Gibbons Marketplace - Customer Support
After receiving such lame info, I'm happier that I decided to order Scott Specialty pages for my British Commonwealth. And I plan to order a Palo hingeless Great Britain album just to enjoy top-shelf for a bit :-)
