After reading about these for awhile I am lost in a .
I hope I at least got the Small Queen part right

I've found this to be a very big subject. I would start with the basic set using the Scott Numbers.

Having worked on Small Queens for 20+ years, I guarantee that it is a huge project. If you want to identify one of each then the Scott catalogue is almost o.k. If you want to go beyond, the best book in the world is (by a long shot) CANADA'S POSTAGE STAMPS OF THE SMALL QUEEN ERA, by Ted Nixon and John Hillson. This book is available only from the Greene Foundation (www.greenefoundation.ca) and is worth every cent of the $150 cost. With the currency exchange rate as it currently sits this is a "steal" for clients paying with $US.

The 1c is Scott 35 and the 2c is Scott 36.

It's hard to tell the shades but from the position dot (lower left) on the 1c, I'd say it could be an earlier printing. Please check the perf. If perf 11 1/2 x 12 then it is 35d otherwise 35.

The 2c is almost the blue-green shade. Check the perf. If it is 12 x 12 1/4 then it is 36d. If it is 11 1/2 x 12 then it is 36e otherwise 36.
