I now own this book. If you'd like me to check on things for you, just let me know. I'm no expert on Irish stamps, but I'm happy to do a reasonable amount of research for SCF members.

Out of curiosity, does the catalog list Irish savings stamps? I see them from time to time on ebay (and have a few) but I haven't really tried to find any catalog listing.

Does it cover the Fenians and other "forerunners" to the 1922 overprints and later free state issues?

KGB - thanks. Many countries had postal savings banks and/or postal savings systems at various points. I have a large gold-medal exhibit of the US system but have only played around with other jurisdictions.

j, while the Forerunners section is only two pages, it--and the Essays chapter of two pages--are perhaps the most interesting. More than 150 stamps and denominations are covered.
