Hello fellows, I have been working on my classic Belgium and got to the Scott listing for the 1893-1900 and the 1905-11 issues with tabs. How can you tell the difference between Scott type A27 and type A32 (besides color) when you don't have multiple copies to compare between? The difference between red brown and violet brown is difficult. Usually Scott types are face different. My classic Scott shows type A27 in a yellow-orange color on which is difficult to see any details. It is all confusing to me. Any help? Thanks! Wolf-==-

Wolf, in the 1893 series, the frame line and artwork extend from the bottom of the stamp to the tab -- the perforations are over that artwork. In the 1905 series, there is a clear break in the frame lines and no artwork in the gap between the stamp and the tab.

You're welcome. Just wait until you get a poorly centered stamp in which the bottom perfs cut into the frame lines so the bottom part of the stamp design is torn off...

While we're in the neighborhood... Can anyone shed some light on the differing perforation hole sizes on the 1905 issue?
