Recently I purchased a United Nations 1951-2013 album from Mystic for only $80. Does anyone know of a album, with tabs, of Israel anywhere near this price range? What Israel album is best?

Terry,
I collect Israel.
The problem is affordability.
I have a set of Palo Albums for untabbed Israel. Awesomely, super nice albums, but expensive as all get out.
For my tabbed Israel (and Palestine, Palestinian Authority), I'm using Bill Steiner's pages.
Unfortunately I'm not aware of any good Israel albums in the $80 range. |

You can find plenty of low cost used Israel tab albums at auction. I have bout several in auctions recently, although not on E-bay. I have done real well buying them from conventional auctions. I haven't gotten any as low as $80, but I am buying them with stamps, not empty. My personal collection is in White Ace pages, but I just bought a collection in Lighthouse hingeless pages. This album looks to be a lot more comprehensive than the White Ace pages, since it includes different tab types (left and right), tete-beche issues, phosphor varieties, as well as watermark varieties. If you are interested in used pages, let me know. I have an extra set of white ace pages (with some stamps, and only through 70's, I think) that I would sell real cheap. |

I don't know if anyone has used the MOM albums, available here: http://www.momalbums.com/index.htmlThey are apparently produced in Germany; and their prices are *very* reasonable, considering they are hingeless. (Disclaimer: I've never used them and know nothing about them beyond what's on the website.) Israel is included in their lineup. |

adcaplan - other than e-Bay I don't know of any auctions that list albums, pages, or generally supplies. Lots of auctions for early, and expensive, US stamps. |

I have bought some from Apfelbaum, Harmer-Schau, and Siegel in the last few months. I know most people think that Apfelbaum is not a place to buy, but I have done very well in buying Israel collections from them. I bought a collection that had sheets, plate blocks (in a 3 volume Minkus album), tabs (White Ace pages, almost 2 complete sets), and some other albums. I also got a Lindner hingeless album set from Siegel, and I believe it is a Palo set from Harmer (haven't received it yet). I have managed to add a ton of material to my collection, sell off enough duplicates to more than pay for it all, and still have a lot to go through. |
