51 Studebaker you are right on the money.
Pagoda I have KGV imprint pairs 1½ die 2s that only 4 are known (I have 2 of them) they are only valued at $1000 for a block of 4 ,So how many are known to exist with this set ? You'd think true classics would bring more than this hyped up lot . |

Don,
Stampboards is the leading Australian Stamp Web site and is the logical place for online discussion on this intriguing issue. I can't see any comments where Glen has been using any of his influence to promote the items, on the contrary, it has been the more studious experts who have commented on the issue and especially now after the discovery that there are two basic types of the basic design.
Who knows what will happen in the future but the comments on Stampboards will be regarded as the basis of the study into the issue.

Al,
each to his own, some collect KGV, some Roos, some decimals. You have to also remember that this issue is of interest to various themes,

For those of us who don't want to read the entire run of messages on the other board, what is the difference between the two different versions? |

Hi and thank you for letting me join your awesome Site. There was a Set of Six with Missing Literal that sold on ebay for nearly $9000. |

Am about to take this set of counter printed $1 koala & kangaroo stamp set off paper. For some reason even this set sells a present for $100. |

This week 26th Feb Aussie Al
On the listing off paper used: 1 stamp shows 26 Mar 2016
2 other stamps have part Feb but have 2016.
The post marks survived being soaked early. Was super careful all way round. |

So who are the winners and losers in all this?
Seems like the local study group and their philatelic friends, and one dealer, have made a killing by buying all available stock before the issue became widely known.
I guess the losers are the average Australian collector that suddenly find they have a hole in their collection if the stamps are catalogued and/or included in album page supplements. |

I believe that they will be cataloged very shortly in ACSC , ASC and SG . It will be interesting at what pricing they will put these sets at. |

Mikey,
None of that is the fault of the participants. I am no apologist for Glen Stephens, I think they way he berates people on his website is terrible and I don't participate their for that reason. However, he is from Adelaide and has an enviable contact network. He is a dealer, he sells stamps. He has paid for them and sold them for less than others.
That there was a miniscule emergency printing of stamps creates the problem for collectors, not those who brought the issue to our attention.

Just love those rat thewed KGV plates.
Made some great plate flaws.
Bet the Adelaide GPO Post Master is the laughing stock of the world stamp printers at present.
So the Adelaide GPO had no 20c or 10c stamps? What was the emergency? Surely they had some 5c stamps.
