... I don't know what the price of Kiloware or the price of tea in china has to do with it ...

All you would need is for one guy to find one provisional in one kiloware packet one time and ...

... oh yeah, that already happened.

Hi pagoda.

70c kiloware is of great interest to me at present. Who cares if you are not interested in kiloware. It is a runner in the same horse race when it comes to prices in 12 months for me. I drink coffee not tea.

My crystal ball answer is "The price will half in 1 year!

Hopefully the above means todays prices for both the stamp set & 70c kiloware will half in the next 12 months.

KGV,

I have noticed at Status Sales when they have huge quantities of kiloware from various charities that there are only 3 bidders, 1 in the room and two on the phone. it is usually one of the phone bidders who are successful,

Mate! Status auction kiloware is insane.

After bidding over $100 a kg for 70c kiloware and loosing.

So I phoned Status and they tell me one guy has been buying everything for ages at whatever the cost.

My charities are sending me kiloware with no 70c stamps in it . Not even a definitive.

The 30c counter printed stamp set & 70c kiloware are the hottest items in the current market place by a long way.

KGV,

and those realisations are from December before the 30c. Adelaide was even a twinkle in the Adelaide PMG's eye,

Yep! Any kiloware coming out of SA is going to get a bit more interest as you suggest.

KGV,

5040 printed, roughly 2500 accounted for, there could be 3500 more out there and I can guarantee the kiloware is being scoured for them.

There is no reason why they should be only found in SA kiloware, the $ 1.00 rate was internal Australia, they could be anywhere,

Interesting numbers pagoda.

Yes they could be a find in any kiloware.

It is nice that some of the kiloware buyers and sorters will have a great find.

I guess the owners of the 2500 are wishing the other 2500+ don't show up & spoil the profits .

Al,

wouldn't make any difference, it is very unlikely that any more mint will be found or any covers. There will be some found in kiloware but not enough to make a dent in demand,

eyeonwall,

that is what has been reported, but that should be divided by 6 for each of the 6 designs. It includes mint, used and covers. It appears that on the third day the ones in the know scoured every Post Office that was known to have been supplied and bought what ever was available. I presume by then new stocks of the regular 30c. had arrived and there was no shortage and the PO staff allowed the sales without rationing. Judging by comments that I have heard there were about 3 or 4 Adelaide collectors who bought them, some made covers with complete sets and some gave them to friends and some sold them to dealers for what I was told at $ 20 each,

Anyone sitting on quite a few isn't going to tell the world how many covers or mint they have ,No one here can say how many mint Or covers are surviving until after the fat lady sings (as they say). I don't collect decimals but watching this is entertaining .

And the smartest one contacted Adelaide business with an offer they could not refuse.

Just keep offering more each time they said no!
