Paul32 - Your Spanish stamps are not identified correctly.

In order left to right:
Spain, Scott #37
Cuba, Scott #10, or #13 (depending on watermark, but it does not look like bluish paper to me)
Cuba, Scott #3
Cuba, Scott #2

Spain made stamps for Cuba, while under Spanish rule, at the same time and used the same basic stamp design. The difference between the Spanish stamps and the Cuban stamps is the wording at the bottom of the stamp.

Cuban stamps read:
1/2R PLATA F, 1 RL PLATA F, 2RS PLATA F

Spanish stamps read:
1 REAL, 2 REALES

Also the colors are a bit different between Spain and Cuba.

Cuban 1RL stamps are a bit more greenish, while 1RL Spain is more blue.

Cuba 2RS stamps are more carmine or orangeish, while Spain 2RS stamps are more brownish violet.

Here are the Spain 1RL (Scott 38) and 2RL (Scott 39) for comparison.

It's very common to get these stamps mixed up.

Paul,

try reading what Spain 1850 said, the Spain is in Spanish Currency, the Cuba & Puerto Rico issue is in their currency which was based on silver weights hence the word PLATA in the value tablet.

Have you got a catalog which lists the stamps of Spanish Cuba & Puerto Rico issues,

Well, first, it's green and not blue like the Spanish stamp should be (like the one I posted a picture). Secondly, the words at the bottom are different than what is on the Spanish stamp.
The Spanish stamp will read "1 REAL", like the one I posted a picture.
The Cuban stamp will read "1RL PLATA F.", like the one in your picture.

The other, used, stamps in your picture (not the first stamp) all have a Cuban postmark. Spain did not use that postmark

Here is a picture showing your stamp on top and mine on the bottom. You can see the difference in the way the values are written.

Well the bad part is you guys are right! The good part is it's still a $55 stamp right?

I should be doing some more posts I guess to see where I've went wrong more often!

Paul, yes. If it does have the proper watermark, then it does have some good value.

Yes yes it has the correct watermark, I have held it in front of a flashlight. No mistake there!

Paul,

does it has gum, that stamp is commonly found fiscally used in large blocks with a pen cancel and many have been cleaned to resemble unused stamps.

Well perhaps that's why it is less blueish than the neighbours! And no it doesn't seem to have gum...

My apologies for making it rain posts but I had a very nice catch today and this topic makes me doubt if they're all really what I think they are!

The problem is I don't want to unhinge/take out any of the stamps. I'll try placing the book on the scanner tomorrow morning.

Paul, that is useless, they have to be scanned separately both sides.
