I am looking to upgrade my handheld magnifying device. I am looking for something more hands free. Ideally it has a builtin light source and a measurement device (at least to get to the 0.5mm) is a plus. There are two levels: basic device and something that can be attached a computer for image capture.

The primary use is assisting identifying issues like the Wash Franks.

Good luck! I've got 5 of them, ranging from a large 2 power with built in lights to a tiny (seriously tiny) 20x piece. Those two get rarely used, and my go to magnifier is a Bausch & Lomb 10x that is about 1 1/2 inch in diameter. If you must have hands free to handle a quantity of stamps, I like the 2 1/2 power OptiVisor. For the money, the 10x B&L is the best buy in my opinion of course.

I have two hand held Bausch-Lomb types. They both have an inset so think it is a 2x with a 4x to 5x inset. I think I want something 5 to 10x with built-in illumination.
