Two types of 5p:
I — Squarish dots beside "d."
II — Tiny vertical dashes beside "d."

I'm not entirely sure what they mean with the dots and dashes?

I've added some pics with why I think it's type I but I might me mistaken...

Looks like Die II - vertical lines, rather than square dots, value in left-hand tablet centred to right.

Yes indeed I was confused with the word "slash". They are indeed more "dashlike" than "dotlike".

Looks like Plate II to me, but perhaps that's only because I understand Plate I is scarce.

The lower picture is Die I. It appeared in 1887, with Die II following in 1888.
