Are you trying to run the Windows version using Wine, or the Linux version under straight Linux? |

I was trying to run Windows version using Wine. Your comment about linux version took me straight to your website and there is a linux version for download! (which I didn't see two days ago). I will report back as soon as I have tried it. |

The Linux version is new as of version 2 of the app, which was released yesterday, so you didn't miss it two days ago! |

There was a problem with the installer for the Mac version, so if you previously downloaded it, you'll want to go download the fixed version.
Also, I discovered while fixing the installer that the app won't run on MacOS versions 10 and under. So if you're on a really old Mac, time to upgrade your OS! |

I downloaded the linux version to my Downloads folder, right clicked on the .deb file there, used Software Installer and 30 seconds later I could open StampFix, I've only tested with simplest case - single image on black background - but that works perfectly. Respect Postmaster, I immediately headed over to the Donate button on your website. |

Other than Hans, anyone here on Windows 10 or 11 having any issues with the new version? I just received a second report of the buttons across the top being non-functional, this time from a Windows 11 user. It works file on all my Windows machines, though, so I'm just trying to get an idea of what might be causing it. |

WARNING!!!
If you're using StampFix on a Mac with an Apple Silicon-based (ARM) processor – meaning an M1, M2, or M3 processor, not an Intel processor – and MacOS 14 (Sonoma), don't upgrade your OS to 14.4. There are major bugs in 14.4 that are causing USB hubs and devices to no longer be detected, and more importantly for StampFix purposes, breaking all Java applications. Apple is aware and is supposedly working on a fix. |

I just installed Stampfix V2 but had to jump through hoops. Firstly, Norton blocked the installation file and wouldn't let it run. When I overrided (overrode?) Norton, then Windows Defender blocked the actual installation. The issued were that it's a very new programme with very few users (Defender says 5) and an "unknown" producer. Fortunately, it is not a major job to override both Norton and Defender but, to someone who is not completely confortable with computers, it can be a bit off-putting. So here's my take on the issue.
- PostmasterGS may be unknown to Norton and Microsoft but he is well known to myself
- It is obvious from this forum that he supports his product well
- From personal experience, he also responds quickly and to the point on requests for support sent directly to PostmasterGS
- I only wish the support I receive for larger "trusted" developers such as Norton and Microsoft were as quick and complete.
PostmasterGS: I would suggest that your download site mentions that computer security programs may try to block installation but that they can be overridden and if the new users want that fuzzy feeling of mental security, refer them to this or other fora to see the reactions of current users. Frank. |

New version uploaded – v2.08. This is a bug fix version. There was a bug in the "Edit Stamps Individually" function for images with multiple stamps that was causing some adjustments to not take. Also, I've been made aware of an additional bug that I haven't managed to fix yet. If the filepath or filename of an image contains characters with diacritic mark – meaning those non-English letters like å, í, ö, etc. – the image won't process on Windows computers due to the way Windows handles those characters. I'm working on a fix, but in the meantime, you can get around this issue by simply making sure the filepath/filename don't contain those characters. |
