I hope someone can help me on this cancellation-
the star is obviously by itself in the upper left. The best I can determine the bottom kind of looks like a screaming eagle head facing the left with a cowboy hat on top. I know it sounds ridiculous that's why I need help, I guess I'm not looking at it correctly.

I realized that this being a one cent stamp three one cent stamps would be needed for postage. If three 1Cent were used, the postal worker would cancel the left stamp horizontally with the cdc on the envelope and the killer on the far left stamp horizontally. To cancel the other stamps he would rotate the cancelling devise 90 degrees making those killers vertically. I remembered this by recalling the article about the "kicking mule" cancellations-all of my 1Cent stamps had vertical cancellations. I have a goods idea what this cancel is but would like to hear what you all have to say first.

It appears to be an eagle with wings braced for decent and talons out coming in for a snatch and grab....

Oldguy, what does the horizontal, faded view look like? Like I stated last message-I fell for same description. Most likely, since this is a one cent stamp and three of these one cent were needed for postage, the stamps not next to the CDC would be stamped with the killer vertically, so look at the faded out stamp with the cancellation horizontally.

Doesn't this look like an Indian head facing the left?

JoNo, don't overlook that 1 cent paid printed matter rates, etc., so this stamp could have been used in ANY orientation to the CDS/killer. Thus the killer should be examined from all rotations for "fanciness"
