Clay County Illinois was the source of a number of First Issue $2 bisects used on estate administrator's bonds. While rummaging around the stamp debris in my stamp room this example floated to the top. I have been told that none of these are tied by cancellation, but the initials match those on the document. Although the $2 Conveyance and Probate of Will bisects are priced in the Scott Specialized, the $2 Mortgage is not. Any thoughts on how many of these bonds with bisects have made it into the collector community?

I don't have an answer to your question, but I certainly admire the document. And I'm blown away that you have such high quality stamp debris.

There are about 10 on the PF site. At a guess there might be about a dozen or so more in collectors hands and a few others out there. 25-30 might be a good guess (or it might not).

Rev - I wallowed in your 1-3rd bisects chapter on your personal site. Very very nice material! AND I must say I was proud to see the R15 diagonal bisect that I sold to you some time ago. Pleased to see it happily residing in such good company.
Bill

Thanks Bill. In all fairness, it is a census, so only a tiny amount of the material on that page is actually mine.
