Stampworld prices are retail prices charged by the folks that run the website. In other words, they are more or less retail prices and should only be used as a guide line! If you would like a better catalog on German stamps you need to go with a german catalog!
They correspond with Scott more or less, and are of course mere catalog prices which are ridiculously high most of the time indeed.
What it's about is wether stampworld is a reliable source on this particular stamps color differentiation and it being as scarce as it is made seen. I have an old Scott, also Michel seems more comprehensive in describing different types and colors.
What would be the corresponding number in Michel to this 172b redlike orange 5Mk on Stampworld? My old Scott only has #194 but perhaps newer version have an a or b added?
