Hi guys..Go this Scott 40 from a friend..He classified it as a Scott 40 pale salmon colour just before they brought out the flesh tone colour in late 1895 (early 1896)... PERF IS 12.25 X 12.25..In Unitrade SQ chart it shows 40 as dull rose lilac...Mine is pale salmon.

Should this be an Ottawa printing 1889 - 1897..?

Robert

Hi Wert. That is, beyond any doubt, an Ottawa printing (#45)

Thanks Garfield..Thanks Area66
One last question, if the perfs are 12.25x12.25, would that make it a #45a or a 45b..?

Robert, neither my collection nor Ted Nixon's book recognizes a 12.25 x 12.25. Check again because there a perf 12.3 x 12.3 that is scarce but it is also a deep magenta. The next closest is the 1888-89 printing that perfs 12 x 12.25. All the rest are 12 or less.
