Kingstonstamper, I would love to help you, but it is much easier if you help yourself. A very recent invention called 'Google' will bring you all the info you would want and then some!
I googled 'dr herricks sugar coated pills' and then chose "images" on the Google screen and boy did I hit the jackpot! Good luck!

You won't find it in a Scott catalog. There are other catalogs that carry these, but in this case Google will do fine!

It's a badly damaged (or on a complete box) example of the RS117 design, but it might be the a paper as well as the d paper.

I want to put it in my album.
But I am worried that it is to frail.
Its the whole box.
Should I soak it to soften up the paper.
Or just leave it on the box the way it is.

Just leave it, examples still on the box are very scarce and have a higher value then the stamp alone.

I will uppercase this and shout NO! at you for even considering removing this stamp from the original package. As revcollector states, private die proprietary stamps on original packaging are scarce - and worth considerably more than their soaked counterparts. It took me 20 years to find one of the RS stamps I collect on its box. Just like Antiques Roadshow, everything is worth more with the original box. And despite Peter's post, yes, these are listed in the Scott U.S. Specialized.

Like I said I let my friend use my Scott U.S. Specialized.
He is up riding in the Mountains today and I will have to get it back.
I found it and paid 10 bucks for it. I thought it was a good find .

Ten Bucks makes it an awesome find, it's a $125-$150 item.
