Good day/evening to everyone. I have two G.B scott 130b used stamps, however noticed a shift of color with leaves on left from right side of one of the stamps, including color run into horizontal perfs. Notice vertical line has areas not completed with color to the line, including upper right side green wash color over top of Revenue. It is a genuine stamp since crown watermark noted, including back of stamp slight green color has bled threw.
My question is although design appears same, including not expensive in used condition, with this color shift, does it change value of stamp? I did not clean or placed the stamp in any chemicals to create this effect at all. It was removed from a stamp book. I am placing two of the same stamps, used with cancellations to show what I am attempting to explain with a view. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Warm Regards,
Blazenstar

(This is stamp with color shift)

(This is back os stamp with green bled through and can see watermark)

( this is the same stamp which compared with first stamp)

Hi blazenstar,

I would call a "colour shift" a stamp where there has been a registration error and one colour has been printed out of alignment with the other(s).

In this case, the green colour has been affected by water and the ink has migrated across the stamp. Probably the stamp was left too long in water when it was soaked off its original cover many years ago.

The bi-coloured QV Jubilee issues and the similar EVII issues were printed with fugitive inks to prevent re-use, so bleeding of the colours is common.
