The Alliance for Progress, initiated by U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1961, aimed to establish economic cooperation between the United States and Latin America.
The commemorative stamp set shows agriculture and industry themes. One of the stamps shows cogwheels symbolizing cooperation and progress.

Here is an image of an airmail stamp depicting the emblem of the Congress of the United Labor Unions, printed by photogravure, and issued by Romania on February 10, 1947 to publicize the event, Scott No. C27. Bonuses: Airplane, flag, map, hands and book.

Lebanon (Lebanese Republic) issued a stamp design showing a cogwheel in 1958/9 as part of a set of definitives/airmail stamps.
The stamp was re-issued in September 1959 for a conference of engineers, with overprint.

Given that this is my first post, it is apt that - as a retired engineer (aircraft engines) - this stamp should be used.

The stamp has a new face value of 30 p (piastres) over the original 35 p.

Each stamp has face value 50 H (halalas).

Kuwait issued a set of three stamps, each with the same design, face value 25, 50 and 150 F (fils), in 1997 to mark the Kuwait Industries Exhibition. This is the middle value.
