Hi, I just acquired part of a stamp collection. There are mostly Fleetwood set and such. I came across this and was wondering if it is stamp related. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks, Scott

Looks like a printers proof for an engraving of Mr Lincoln. Printers would often create these to practice their craft. Unfortunately it's not signed or numbered so you'll have difficulty identifying who did it, unless theres something on the back.

Here's one I got a while ago from my brother who used to work at the BA Banknote Co. in Ottawa. He got it from an engraver from the Federal Reserve who was just practicing. Again, unsigned, but it looks nice.

If it can be matched up to something, either stamps, paper money, bonds, etc then it might be identified that way as well.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check the back of it and keep my eye out for anything with the picture on it.

I should have checked before my first reply. No signature. But again, thanks for the information.

The Lincoln profile looks like really good work! I hope you find that it was used somewhere.

jamesw, Thanks for this reply. I'll have to remember that if I get something similar to this in the future. In my defense, I'm completely new to this. Tour information is greatly appreciated.
