Any info about this issue?? It seems to be a book about monuments and culture in Henan, about 30 pages, on which are about 10 complete series of China stamps, a several of souvenir sheets and a several stationery postcards (pictural postcards with a printed stamps).

All is mounted in clear Hawid, MNH.

All stamps, sheets and cards are issued in time span 1987 to 1997, and book itself seems to be printed in 1998-1999 (they are talking about the Millenium which will come soon).

It is written bilingual (Chinese - English) and the title of the book (on English) is: "Tour to Henan, Love in Zhongzhou, special collecting of stamps", and it issued by: "Henan Postage Stamp Production Administrative Bureau".

I am just curious is that some kind of private company??

The "Henan Postage Stamp Production Administrative Bureau" sure [i]sounds[/i[ like a public agency, but ...

I'm fond of all of my PRC postcards & ephemera.

http://www.stampprinters.info/SPI_C...ry_China.htm ... handy reference, but it does not list these guys, but book publishing ain't stamp printing ...

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

Thank you, IkeyPikey. Yes, they should be the publishers of the book, stamps are regular China issues. However, what is confusing me a lot, is a pretty bad English translation of the Chinese text... they are almost bad as me in English :)

However, any prominent institution will make a quality text on English...

the only reference to the "Henan Postage Stamp Production Administrative Bureau" on the ENTIRE WEB is only this thread here and now. In the forward of the book, they named their institution significantly different: "Henan Administrative Bureau of Stamps"... also no a single match on the entire Web for that exact phrase :-/

All looks like a bad play with the Google translate for me :-/

There is a Universal Rule in the translation industry: you only translate into your mother tongue.

Now, you know 'why'

If you scan the name of the publisher in Chinese, I will run it past my helper.

Yes, I know about that rule... the World will be a much better place if all people will be stick to that.

"Eurosong" is the most famous all-European pop-music contest, and for more than 50 years it is matter of honour for all countries to be me represented best as they could, and, luckily even to win it.

This year a Croatian songstress is singing a song written on English. That will be nice, in a way to be more competative on the greater European territory, in the case that her English pronunciation is not so bed. I suppose that to the most English native speakers she will sounds like a Russian singer agent on the mission.

Also, for some unkown reason, a lyricist who wrote the lyrics is a German native speaker from Austria. I am not able to judge, but I think that only a native English speaker (or someone who is living in an English speaking country for decades) can write a quality song on English. This all sounds pretty poor to me... if you are interested in music, you can hear that song here:

UGQlYSC9NGk

I don't think that she sings about the "Lighthouse" publisher of the philatelic albums and album pages...

and about the publisher of our book in Chinese... I think that characters, which named it, are these...

I am told that English translation of the publisher name is more/less correct.

I've eMailed you the Chinese characters so's you can search for more about the agency.
